Making Waves in Offshore Intelligence: FPS Data Now in Flowline®

Making Waves in Offshore Intelligence: FPS Data Now in Flowline®

Flowline® has consistently been the go-to platform for real-time data on offshore projects, vessel and rig activity, industry trends, and market dynamics for more than 5 years. Trusted by E&P operators, vessel owners, engineering firms, and investors around the globe, our platform delivers not just data—but relevant, actionable intelligence.

N
ow, we’re excited to announce a major new feature:

Floating Production Systems – with dedicated sections for both Planned Projects and Current Units.

Why This Matters

Floating Production Systems (FPS) are central to offshore oil and gas developments across the globe, but the market is shifting. Demand for larger, more complex FPSOs—some capable of processing 250,000 barrels per day—is driving up costs and adding engineering challenges. Rising labour and materials prices, coupled with supply chain competition from other sectors, are contributing to project delays and a reduced pipeline of final investment decisions.

Against this backdrop, having both planned and current FPS project intelligence in one place gives you a strategic edge: you can spot opportunities early, monitor shifting timelines, and assess potential partners or competitors before key EPC contracts are awarded. Flowline’s new FPS sections provide the clarity you need to navigate an increasingly competitive and cost-sensitive market.

Planned Projects – 169 Opportunities, All in One Place

As of August 2025, the Planned Projects section includes 169 FPS projects worldwide, each packed with detail, including:

  • Project Status – Planning, Appraisal, or Bidding/Final Design.
  • Location & Scope – Region, Block, Water Depth, Field, and Associated O&G Project in Flowline, which provides expanded details on related infrastructure, additional contractors, and the full project workscope.
  • Infrastructure Details – Predicted FPS Unit Type & Hull Type.
  • Operator & Ownership – Current Operator.
  • Contract Details – Contract Strategy, Estimated Capital Cost, and Probability of Award.
  • Key Milestones – Forecast Contract Award and Forecast Production Start Dates.
  • Additional Insights – Notes providing extra context and intelligence.

Current Units – Real-Time View of Active Infrastructure

As of August 2025, the Current Units section covers 553 FPS units that are on order, installed, under repair, or available. For each unit, you’ll find detailed technical and commercial information, including:

  • Location & Identification – Region, Country, Block, Field, Water Depth, Unit Name, and Unit Type.
  • Status & Classification – Current Status (Installed, On Order, Under Repair, Available), Class, and IMO Number.
  • Ownership & Commercial Details – Operator, Owner, Contract Type, and New Build Price.
  • Processing & Storage Capacities – Oil Processing, Gas Storage, Oil Storage, and Water Injection.
  • Design & Construction – Hull Type, Hull Build Date, Hull Builder, Length, Breadth, Depth, Construction Yard, Topside Fabricator, Topside Weight, Mooring Type, and Mooring Supplier.
  • Project Timeline – Installation Date, Contracting Date, and Lease End Date.
  • Additional Information – Notes for extra context and precise coordinates.

Interactive, Filterable, and Fully Exportable

Both the Planned Projects and Current Units sections come with:

  • Interactive graphs to visualise activity by region, type, or timeline.
  • Project and unit timelines for a quick glance at activity windows.
  • Downloadable datasets for offline analysis.
  • Custom filters to zero in on the projects or units that matter to you.
  • Save lists to create your own watchlist of preferred projects and units.
