Riviera Maritime Media and EMA partner to Launch the Floating Energy Forum 2026

Riviera Maritime Media and Energy Maritime Associates unveil Floating Energy Forum to champion offshore energy transition

Riviera Maritime Media and Energy Maritime Associates (EMA) have partnered to launch the Floating Energy Forum, a one-day conference taking place on 14 May 2026 in London that will address the most urgent commercial, technical, and strategic challenges facing the offshore energy sector.

This collaboration combines Riviera’s global event expertise with EMA’s authoritative market intelligence to facilitate dialogue, knowledge exchange and action across the floating hydrocarbons and renewables sectors. The partnership immediately delivers value through a three-part webinar series beginning 4 December 2025, designed to provide operators, investors, contractors, policymakers and the supply chain with expert insights on the evolving floating energy landscape.

The first webinar is themed "Floating energy: promise, peril, and what comes after". Confirmed panellists include Energy Maritime Associates director, David Boggs, NOV senior VP, Cobie Loper, MODEC director of sales and marketing, Boyd Howell, and Wison New Energies business development director – Americas, Sinan Kikety.

Later webinars will address investment flows between hydrocarbons and renewables, advancements in floating gas technologies such as FLNG and FPSOs, and innovative approaches to project financing.

Building on the webinar series, the flagship live Floating Energy Forum will take place on 14 May 2026 at the London offices of international law firm Norton Rose Fulbright. More than 100 high-level delegates from across the value chain are set to attend with discussions focusing on developing and financing commercially viable projects, emerging market opportunities, using technology to enable efficient construction and operation, asset life extension/redeployment and feasibility of green offshore energy innovations such as floating wind.

Commenting on the partnership, EMA director David Boggs said:

"Floating hydrocarbon technologies unlock stranded reserves with a lower environmental footprint and are central to the energy transition. Our combined expertise ensures the Forum provides timely, data-driven insights enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions on financing and technology pathways."

Riviera Maritime Media executive editor and head of business relations Edwin Lampert said:

"This partnership embodies a united commitment to advancing offshore floating energy through robust knowledge sharing and collaboration. Together, the webinars and live event prepare the industry to address critical challenges and capitalise on emerging opportunities in a rapidly evolving sector."

Call for Papers

In support of the live conference, the Forum invites abstracts on technical, operational, regulatory, commercial, or financial aspects of floating energy projects. Topics may include gas monetisation (FLNG, FSRU, gas-to-power), project scaling and risk reduction, asset life extension, and offshore renewables innovations. Abstracts of up to 500 words must be submitted by 31 October 2025 and will be evaluated purely on technical merit.
